Kristen Sweeney is the shop's manager. "I have worked for The Toggery for 26 years. I love clothes and the idea of finding a bargain. We have something for everyone at every price point from typical mall brands to high-end brand names like Louis Vuitton and Chanel," she explained.

"We put out new merchandise daily and run weekly specials including Tog Tote Monday where customers can get at least a 10 percent discount shopping with a Toggery reusable bag," she said. Sometimes, their discounts are even bigger. "We are currently accepting styles for summer that are no more than three years old, so turn those unwanted clothes into cash," she noted. Consignment hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the first Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Toggery is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Inquiries can be answered by e-mailing:

Their website link,
www.toggeryresale.com/about-the-toggery, tells their story. Lynn Burrows, who is originally from Nottingham, England, founded The Toggery on April 2, 1986. The name is from the old English word "togs," which means clothing. Lynn's "tog" vision has come a long way from earning $3.00 on opening day in a 400 square foot shop. The Toggery has since expanded to 4,000 square feet and boasts an impressive client list. Many of the same consignors and shoppers who supported the shop in its first year are still loyal clients today. The shop moved to 1810 Broad Ripple Avenue about 15 years ago after being located at 6349 Guilford Street for many years.
Ms. Sweeney reflected on the most gratifying aspect of her career. "The most rewarding thing is the people. We have such a wonderful community of people who frequent the store often. They keep coming back for those good deals. It's also rewarding to see someone's eyes light up when they come in for the first time."
As the shop has become a retail destination for generations of residents in the local community, the Toggery continues offering a diverse selection of seasonal items and accessories for men and women at their location on Broad Ripple Avenue.
Men's apparel is also available at the Toggery.
