Nearby Cultural Ripplings - Otis Gibbs at HiFi
posted: Feb. 22, 2024

Long time readers may remember back in 2007 when the City of Indianapolis named six cultural Districts (Broad Ripple, Fountain Square, Mass Ave, Wholesale District, Indiana Avenue and The Canal & White River State Park). Broad Ripple was the only one not downtown. There is still a logo from that on the back of Runners Forum at 902 Westfield Boulevard [G5 on
map].
Here it is when it first appeared, before being moved later for safety concerns.
Since that time, we have been trying to cover events at those other Cultural Districts when we are able. Recently, Otis Gibbs, a much loved musician with Broad Ripple roots, played at the HiFi in the Fountain Square Cultural District. Broad Ripple was well represented in the audience.
The Gordon Bonham Blues Band opened the show and then played with Otis.
