The removal of the Westfield Boulevard bridge over the canal has begun. Eventually a new bridge will be built with a new sidewalk. To stabilize the banks during the existing bridge removal, a large auger is used to drill holes in the work area. The holes are filled with concrete before the structure in that area is removed.
