Salon 6, 6267 Carrollton Avenue, will hold a "Cut-A-Thon" to benefit Childhelp on March 14, 2010, from noon until 6 p.m.
"We got involved with Childhelp through Eufora, the product line we carry," said Stephanie Gregoire, a stylist with Salon 6. "They do several events for Childhelp and encourage their salons to do the same."
All Cut-A-Thon proceeds will be donated to Childhelp, a leading national non-profit organization dedicated to helping victims of child abuse and neglect though prevention, intervention and treatment. During the Cut-A-Thon, ten participating stylists will offer haircuts for $20 minimum donations (cash or check only). Men, women and children are welcome. Haircuts will be performed on a first-come, first-served walk-in basis; no appointments are necessary. In order to raise the highest amount of money possible, full style-out services may not be provided. Clients also will have an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for $1 each for a chance to win a gift basket valued at $600. Between the Cut-A-Thon and a Walk-A-Thon and silent auction to be held later this year, Gregoire says Salon 6 hopes to raise $10,000 for Childhelp in 2010. Located in the eclectic Broad Ripple Village, Salon 6 is a unique full-service modern salon with a relaxed, contemporary atmosphere. Services include color, color correction, highlighting, texture, men's and women's cuts and styles, waxing and make-up application.
