Cynthia Layne and Steve Allee were the stars at the 2009 Indy Jazz Fest Artist Announcement Party which was held at the Jazz Kitchen at 54th and College Avenue. It was a standing room only venue as David Allee read the lineup for the 2009 fest.

During the two day fest (Sep 26 & 27) on The Lawn at White River State Park will be Branford Marsalis, Soulive, Poncho Sanchez, Derrick Gardner and the Jazz Prophets, Bill Lancton Coalition, Brandon Meeks, Clifford Ratliff feat. Melvin Rhyne, Frank Glover and Kilho, Marcus Miller, Kurt Elling, Steve Allee Big Band, Pharez Whitted, Hana-neel, IPS All-City Jazz Band, Fort Wayne Snider High School Band, Ben Davis High School Band, Sarah Scharbrough, Gregg Bacon, and Cynthia Layne.

Other events will be held throughout the city during September including a Freddie Hubbard Tribute on September 25, 2009, at Madame Walker Theater.
