Let the Summer Wine Season Begin!
One of the best festivals of the season takes place on Saturday, June 6th from 11 A.M. to 7 P.M. in Military Park downtown-The 10th Annual Vintage Indiana: A festival of wine, food and fun. I have been involved since the first fest and am thrilled to see the growth in both wineries and restaurants participating and also music acts and other vendors involved.
24 Indiana wineries will be on site offering tastes of most if not all of the wines on their menus. 10 restaurants will be selling food of all cuisines affordably priced and made to go well with the wine.
This year's music lineup is outstanding! Jennie DeVoe, Mike Milligan and Steam Shovel will get the crowd jamming so when Gin Blossoms take the stage the park will be rocking.
There are VIP tickets for $50 this year as well with special privileges. Visit www.vintageindiana.com for details.
Adults 21+ tickets are $22 in advance. $25 at the gate. Designated Drivers receive FREE soft drinks and get in for $10. Tickets for ages 6 to 20 are $5, kids 5 and under are FREE!
There is a KidZONE for the younger crowd, plus wine related art vendors.
I will be hosting the Wine Food Experience Tent once again. Stop by and enjoy cooking demonstrations (and food samples) and wine info from the various Indiana Wine Trails.
ID Required at the gate. Get tickets now at area Marsh Supermarkets or on line at www.vintageindiana.com
Can't wait another week to get your wine/food/music fix??
No problem-Friday May 29th is Fringe Friday. Listen to local musicians and enjoy wine, beer and food in the newly renovated IndyFringe Building at 719 E ast St. Clair Street. Party starts at 5:30 P.M. Admission is free but donations are accepted. In my Bin:
1492, Argentina-Blend of Chardonnay, viognier and chenin blanc. Crisp tropical fruit, exotic nose and clean mineral finish. Great garden wine.
Paringa White, Australia-Blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Semillon. Soft melon/tropical fruit with crisp citrus hint and mineral finish. Great with grilled fish.
The Black Chook, Sparkling Shiraz, Australia-Bubbles and big bold flavors make this a PERFECT party wine ANYTIME of the year. Rich robust aromas and flavors of black raspberry, softly spicy and a great pair with burgers, steaks, or tuna on the grill.
