Duncan is the owner and operator of the Broad Ripple Barbershop, an upscale gentleman's establishment, in its second month of business and offering low-cost haircuts in a warm, friendly atmosphere. The shop is located at 6194 Guilford, next to Krogers.
"I decided to open my shop in Broad Ripple because I am very familiar with the area, having grown up here and graduating from Broad Ripple High School" said Duncan. He added "our signature service is a hot-lather, back-of-the-neck shave. Our customers love it."
His formula for success: Barbering. . . Beverages and Beautiful Women.
The staff includes five stylists, three of them skilled craftswomen. . . Noelle Green, Katrina Anderson and Rea Best. Not only are they trained barbers, each has been taught the art of straight-edge razor shaving...

Patrons can lounge in three oversized easy chairs, watch a large screen TV and enjoy the complimentary beverage of their choice while waiting for their appointment. Appointments are suggested, but the shop also welcomes walk-ins.
Spokeswoman Green remarked that the shop does get a lot of walk-in traffic, many just stopping by to relax, have a drink and just sit around.
Currently, the Broad Ripple Barbershop is offering a "Grand Opening Special". . . a haircut and shave for only $10.00.
Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 10 - 9; Saturday 9 - 6 and Sunday 12 - 5. Appointments can be made by calling the shop, 253-3600.
Duncan also owns a limo service and is planning to expand his business to include another barbershop and a nightclub.
