This ad for Hasse Painting ran in 1936. The painter was at 6512 N. College Avenue. When I went to look up what is there today I noticed an odd thing. The addresses on the west side of College (the even addresses) are wacky. 64xx addresses run from 64th Street all the way to 66th Street. There are NO 65xx even addresses. I am guessing this occurred when the streets got renumbered after the 1922 annexation.

Further investigation shows that all of Warfleigh is numbered like that, no 65xx addresses.

In the Indianapolis City Directories, 65th Street in Warfleigh becomes 66th Street in 1942. This is a good clue as to they year the change occurred, but I have also seen many errors in those directories.
