Hamilton Series Explores Women's Health With Inspiring Worship, Music, and Keynote Speaker Nov. 16 at North UMC
posted: Oct. 30, 2025

Women's health will be the subject of a special program presented by The Richard E. and Anna Lee Hamilton Series on Theology and Contemporary Issues on Sunday, Nov. 16 at North United Methodist Church (North UMC), 3808 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis.
The Hamilton Series brings nationally recognized speakers, seminars, and special musical events to North UMC to address pressing contemporary issues through a theological lens.
The day will begin with worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. featuring Bishop Tracy Smith Malone, resident bishop of the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church, as the preacher.
Worship will also include members of the Indianapolis Women's Chorus and the women of North UMC's Cathedral Singers choir combining forces for the world premiere of "The Song She Is Singing," a choral work by acclaimed local composer Penny Rodriguez. In addition, the offertory anthem, "Song of Miriam" by Elaine Hagenberg, will be performed by members of the Indianapolis Women's Chorus.
The 11 a.m. service will be livestreamed on the North Church Indy YouTube channel.
Following the 11 a.m. service attendees are invited to a free luncheon and keynote address in the church's Fellowship Hall. The keynote speaker will be Rev. Katey Zeh, ordained Baptist minister, author, and CEO of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. Rev. Zeh is nationally recognized for her leadership on reproductive freedom and was named one of the Center for American Progress's "Top Justice-Seeking Faith Leaders to Watch."
RSVPs for the free luncheon are requested by Friday, Nov. 7 by emailing events@northchurchindy.com.
The Hamilton Series was established in 2018 through a gift from the William E. Schmidt Foundation. It honors the lives and ministries of Dick and Anna Lee Hamilton. Dick Hamilton served as senior pastor of North UMC from 1974 to 1997 and was widely known for his leadership in social justice and Christian action. Anna Lee Hamilton enriched the church and community through her singing, teaching, and leadership.
Additional support for the series is generously provided by Nick and Susan Blankenbaker Noyes and the Blankenbaker family, as well as gifts from individuals in memory of Dick and Anna Lee Hamilton.
All events are free and open to the public.
