Random Rippling - Ghostly tracks reappear
posted: Apr. 17, 2025

It is spoooooky! Years ago old streetcar tracks would reappear as the potholes opened on College and the Avenue (streetcars would travel up College, then east on BR Ave to Broad Ripple Park where there was a station and turn-around loop). Part of the recent projects of adding the Red Line and of the redevelopment of Broad Ripple Avenue was to remove all of the steel tracks that caused troubles from being buried in the concrete. But! Like an old friend, the old tracks have proven that they are not to be forgotten!
Apparently the right turn section of the north-bound College intersection [H2 on map] was never cleared and the tracks are present again in a big pothole.
