Letters to the Editor - Canal Parking Deck

Hello,
Do you know where I might find information and/or photos of the old Broad Ripple Parking Bridge? A long time resident I asked remembers it and told me it was located somewhere behind the Broad Ripple Fire Station and was constructed over the canal. He said it held probably a hundred cars. I had not heard of this until something I read in connection with the current work being done on the canal.
Thanks in advance for any info/photos you might provide.

Sure! I will publish your letter and my response so the readers can also get these links.

We have some coverage of it on our websites BroadRippleHistory.org and RandomRipplings.com
Here is our timeline. It lists the construction and demolition dates:
Here is a series of aerials showing when it came and went.
This one is when it appeared (there was no 1958 or 1959 aerial). You can hit NEXT until it starts to vanish in 1999.
This is when the BR Art Fair was held on it:
Another aerial and a photo of it coming down:
Thanks for writing! It reminds me of what is missing from the websites. So much work, so little time.
