Historic Ad - Chicken Loop
posted: Sept. 21, 2023
This historic ad for the Chicken Loop restaurant ran in 1940. The ad says that the restaurant was previously the Chicken Koop. It was at 6515 N. Keystone Avenue, probably where the CVS is today. The proprietor was C. Raimondi.
There is a house at 7373 Westfield Boulevard that is believed to be a one time home to the Chicken Loop. I do not know if this was before or after the 65th and Keystone restaurant. I can find no published evidence of the 7373 location. Any records (all of which are after the 1922 annexation by the City of Indianapolis) show 7373 as a residence. If any readers have knowledge of the Chicken Loop at 7373 Westfield Boulevard, please
contact us.
In the 1940s the directories list 7373 Westfield Boulevard (also Westfield Road) as the residence of Fred Corya. More recently the Lobraicos lived there.
Here is the house at 7373 Westfield. It was said that there are so many windows on the south end of the house because there were small restaurant tables inside at each window.
