In my research this week I was scouring a 1945 Indianapolis phone book for names of Broad Ripple area businesses.
I discovered that in 1945 there were 26 gas stations and 3 taverns in the Gazette map area.
In 2023 there are 6 gas stations and 30 taverns.
These numbers are most likely not 100% accurate as it is easy to miss one in the book, but interesting none the less!
