Random Rippling - Stage named at the Storefront Theatre of Indianapolis
posted: Feb. 09, 2023

The stage at the Storefront Theatre of Indianapolis has been named for C.H. Douglas & Gray Wealth Management, according to Christopher Douglas, Managing Director. The naming unveiling was held on on Friday, January 27, prior to the 7 p.m. performance of the play, Post-Democracy, by Hannah Moscovitch.

The Storefront Theatre, located at 2416 E. 55th Place [MM32 on map] (Keystone Avenue and 55th Street), offers a 50-seat "black box" theatre, art gallery, and administrative space. The black-box format is a simple, unadorned room with black walls. Storefront also hosts 12 exhibitions a year by Indianapolis artists and rents out its 5,000-square-foot venue to arts organizations.
"We are thrilled to name our performance space after C.H. Douglas & Gray and cannot thank them enough for their support," said Ronan Marra, Founder and Artistic Director of the theatre. "The firm has a vital history of supporting the arts and we are honored to be part of that community,"
The wealth-management firm continues to support arts and cultural institutions across Indianapolis. Douglas said, "We are pleased to lend support to Storefront, a professional, not-for-profit theatre company that focuses on new work by underrepresented playwrights. It is important for our city to include these innovative venues for thought-provoking performances and discussions."
At Storefront, plays are produced in the classic Chicago storefront style in a small, intimate space. All are U.S. or world premieres. Admissions are donation-only to increase access to its programming. Free parking is available.
Post-Democracy, in its U.S. premiere, takes "a searing look at upper-class privilege," asking, "what does it take to confront corruption?" focuses on a business trip that suddenly involves sex scandals and other damaging secrets.
