Mailing It In
Neil Cain recently mailed me a poem from a friend of his for publication. I really like snail mail, especially when it contains poetry. My snail mail address is: C.W. Pruitt II, 2530 Tacoma Circle, Apt #306, Indianapolis, 46220
Below is the gorgeous poem Neil sent me through the caring auspices of the U.S. Mail:
I live lifetimes
while the Sun shines,
millennia at night
as dust on prairie breezes,
infinitely light
I sink softly as sediment
in the River's calming currents
And I hear the wild cries of wilderness
piercing thru the stillness
as the call of our one Mother
as exiled governess
come to take her rightful seat
so we burn from within
with the wildfire's heat,
thoughts scattered as leaves
on Hurricane winds
