Glendale Library new branch input
posted: Sept. 10, 2020
Exciting news - we are building a new Glendale Library branch to better serve you!
At our August board of trustees meeting, board members officially approved the purchase of 5.7 acres of property at the former John Strange Elementary School, located on 62nd Street near Olney Street for construction of a new Glendale Branch. This move will make the location more accessible for patrons, most importantly by getting the library out of the Glendale Shopping Center and into its own standalone building.

New IndyPL Glendale Branch - Give Your Input
We want your input! The Library is working with krM Architecture+ to design and build the new facility, and we are planning various ways to get input about the services and priorities that mean the most to Glendale patrons and the surrounding community. Below are some ways to participate:
Complete our online survey in
ENGLISH or
SPANISH by October 20
Register for an online public input meeting, held on
September 17 and
October 7
Stop by the Glendale Branch to provide input and comments on our inspiration board
Links for the survey, public meeting registration, and more information are available at
indypl.org/glendale.
We are excited that this project will provide a new space to better serve you. The new facility is expected to be approximately 25,000 square feet, with construction beginning in the fall of 2021 and project completion by the end of 2022.
