I wrote the poem below for Martin Luther King Day. I was thinking of the poem Word Poem by Nikki Giovanni as I wrote it.

MLK and Nikki G.

"Dreamers... Wake Up!"
"Now tell me what
you were dreaming.
Was it a good dream?
Did it have layers
that climbed to transcend
the hum-drum of everyday life?
Remember that dream.
Now it's time to get to work.
It looks to be a
beautiful day."
