Broad Ripple Museum - BR Pharmacy
posted: Jul. 02, 2020
This entry into the Broad Ripple Museum is a Broad Ripple Pharmacy Spirit of Camphor canister. It is a cardboard canister with a screw-on cap.
The label says "Spirit of Camphor - alcohol 80 to 87 per cent - DOSE: From five to thirty drops, first added to sugar then mixed with water. - The Rexall Store - M.A. Lobraico, Prop. - Broad Ripple Pharmacy - Cor. Riviera Drive & Bellefontaine St., Indianapolis, Ind."
The Broad Ripple Pharmacy was started by Mike Lobraico. His history can be found on our
www.BroadRippleHistory.org website. The pharmacy became Lobraico's Pharmacy. When Mike retired, that location became Chelsea's. Today it is Runners Forum. The original address was Riviera and Bellefontaine. Riviera became Westfield Boulevard and Bellefontaine became Guilford Avenue. The address is now 902 Westfield Boulevard [G5 on
map].
