Super Summer Sipper
Wine and Sunshine. Two of my favorite things. So imagine my glee when my friendly FedEx man Bob had me sign for a box with a sample of Sunseeker Rose inside.
The name alone made me smile. So did the Rhone shaped bottle that looked as if a sunset had melted into the glass. The bottle neck is a brilliant red orange that slowly fades to a pale pink. An artsy logo in bright white chunky lettering looks as if it is hand painted. Together, the EYE appeal was enough to make me go look for a corkscrew.

Sunseeker is one of the many new labels offered by E and J Gallo Wines of California. This dry style rose is a blend of syrah, grenache, pinot noir and sangiovese. The 4-grape blend offers up a fruity nose with crisp tart flavors of red apple, red raspberry and a hint of wild strawberry. The flavor is fresh and the finish is very dry. Chill a bottle while you fire up the grill and then enjoy it with veggies, fish or chops.
Sunseeker Rose is widely available and affordably priced.
