Birthday Bubbly
My April calendar is filled with birthdays of family, friends and neighbors. Several of my Warfleigh Wino's share the same April birth date so every year we make the time to raise a glass or two together. I'm a fan of sparkling wine any day, but it seems imperative for this celebration. A bottle worth the splurge is the J Vineyards Cuvee 20 Brut.

J Vineyards is located in the beautiful Russian River Valley of Sonoma County, California. The Cuvee or blend is that of three grapes that also find their way into authentic French Champagne-Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. The J Cuvee creates a bottle that is similar in style to those prestigious French producers, but adds a touch of California flair. The bubbles are small and strong. The aromas are citrusy with just a hint of yeast. Subtle, smooth, flavors of lemon and pear give way to a crisp dry finish. A bottle will set you back about 30 bucks but the delicious France meets California bubbly is a crowd pleaser for the Midwestern palate.
Joyeux Anniversaire chers amis! Surf's Up ! Cheers!
