May zoning public meeting held at church
by Alan Hague
posted: Jun. 08, 2018

There were three items on the agenda (in bold below) for the May public meeting of the Broad Ripple Village Association's (BRVA) Land Use and Development committee.
1. 6320 College Avenue, Doug Staley with Staley Signs regarding a variance of development standards to provide for a 57-square foot wall sign (maximum three percent of the facade permitted) for this property. Petition # 2018-DV2-010 Hearing, Tuesday, June 12, 2018
This petition is for new signs for the future Urgent care facility that will go into the property at 6320 N. College Avenue that was previously First Financial Bank (and Flagstar Bank before that). The committee voted to support the new signs if the design could be made smaller and be located higher on the building. It also requested that no ground sign be installed. The committee agreed to take a final vote electronically after the final sign design was submitted.
2. 838 Broad Ripple Avenue, Joe Kahn owner of Condado Tacos to explain the changes made to the property.
This item was for information only. The details of the remodel of Chumley's / The Village Tap into Condado Tacos was conveyed to the committee. Photos of the interior work were shown.
3. 6360 to 6340 Westfield Boulevard, Gary Weaver and Randy Sherman with Weaver Sherman Design regarding an update on final building design, landscaping, lighting and signage for The Line Urban Flats.
This item was for information only. Some changes were made to the apartment/retail space to be built on the Rogers Pools site at 64th and Westfield Boulevard. The building will be slightly shorter than originally proposed. The final unit count will be 128. The committee discussed lighting and landscaping details for the project.
The next public meeting of the Land Use and Development committee is planned for Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Northminster Presbyterian Church starting at 6 pm.
