Love Bombs
I've had the Love Bomb dropped on me many times. And I been told that I have dropped a few.
A few years ago the great artist Bill Emmert and I visited Iowa City. We were funding the trip exclusively through selling our art and poetry along the way.
Bill told me what a cool place Iowa City was and he assured me that I would like it. I told him that we would drop the Love Bomb on Iowa City.
Iowa City proved to be a special place with a very mellow vibe. They had a walking mall downtown with a coffee shop / cigar shop. (I enjoy coffee and cigars)
But the people of Iowa City truly made the trip worthwhile. I met a homeless guy named Michael. He was wearing all black with a long leather jacket. When he found out that I was a poet he began reciting his own crucifixion poetry, which was both cataclysmic and sublime.
When Bill and I were getting ready to leave, Michael kept hugging me and telling me that he loved me. When we got in the van, I had tears in my eyes. I turned to Bill and said, "I wanted to drop the Love Bomb and it got dropped on me."
Let's start a righteous war. Drop a Love Bomb today.
