Broad Ripple Broads for the Cure Annual Fundraiser
Saturday, March 4, 2017
Broad Ripple Tavern
745 Broad Ripple Avenue
21+, 2 - 5 PM, free
The Broad Ripple Broads - a group of lovely women - are hosting one of their annual fundraising events at the Broad Ripple Tavern. I speak from experience - anything these women put their mind to will be fun and successful. They have been gathering lovely items for baskets and other goodies for the sort-of raffle.
Bring cash - you buy tickets and place them in the hopper for the items you'd like to win. This columnist would not own a Kate Spade purse if not for this fundraiser. Be prepared to meet new friends and have a great afternoon - I hope to see you there!
I hope to see you there.

New Augusta Duo
Wednesday, March 8, 2017
Upland Tasting Room
4842 N. College Ave - 21+, 7 - 9 PM, free
The New Augusta Duo is David Schroeder (guitar/vocals) and Lisa Schroeder (bass/vocals) who are part of the larger New Augusta Bluegrass Band. Dave and Lisa have a wealth of songs in their back pocket and harmonize beautifully.
Bonus: there are discounted growler refills. Feel free to bring food in or order delivery to tasting room.

SideNerds Night Out 2017
Saturday, March 11, 2017
DeveloperTown
5255 Winthrop Ave - 21+, 6-10 PM, $15-25, packages available
The theme of this year's Sidener Academy fundraiser is Fantastic Brains and Where to Find Them. The evening will be full of food and drinks and fun and prizes and music all to benefit Sidener Academy students. The proceeds will help fund everything from art supplies to soccer nets and the Math Pentathlon.
There are several ticket options - all are wizard themed - and all include a raffle ticket. Even if you can't go you can make a donation or buy a ticket for a teacher or Sidener parent that might not be able to afford one.
Visit: www.cheddarup.com/tabs/sidenerds2017 for ticket options and to donate.

Not-for-profit director by day, music writer by night, Nora Spitznogle reviews music that happened and previews music and events around Broad Ripple Village. Nora managed CATH Inc coffeehouse at 54th Street and College Avenue for seven years. During that time she hosted hundreds of local and touring musicians, both at the coffeehouse and her home. When CATH closed in 2004 and the music was no longer coming to her, she had to wander from her corner of Broad Ripple to see what is happening elsewhere. You can find her at Second Helpings during the work day, waitressing at the Red Key on Saturday nights and prowling Broad Ripple music venues the rest of the time.
