C-Dub asked us to reprint some of his favorite columns from the first year of the Broad Ripple Gazette. Here is his 3rd column from Volume 1 #15 first published on November 26, 2004.

Life on Earth school is difficult. Pain abounds all around. However, pain is the touchstone of spiritual growth. So consider:

Seeds of Pain

I was beaten
And Defeated
I had lost the will to fight
At this time
The seeds of pain
Helped my Soul
Embrace the light

The journey is difficult though life. But the trip is profoundly beautiful beyond poetic description. So I offer:

The Road Ahead

The road is dusty
The air is musty
The traveling looks so bleak
But
The treasure found
On this sacred ground
Is there for those who seek
