The banner artist of this issue is James Horn.

James was introduced to the Gazette 12 years ago by C.W. Pruitt, II (Poetic Thoughts columnist). At that time we called him Abstract James. He is pictured here with his art exhibit at The April Show, a long-running annual show downtown on Arsenal Avenue.

"For me art serves not only as a viable therapeutic outlet, it may also constitute my greatest way forward in life. Creating my art helps me soothe the wars within me, as I pray for creative solutions to the wars around me."
