Mayor Ballard, Indianapolis Art Center president Carter Wolf, and Michael Patarino, Vice President Real Estate, Keystone Realty Group unveiled the winning design for the art piece that will wrap around the northeast corner of the Broad Ripple parking garage. The mural The Gateway is by artist Michelle Carollo.

Several pieces were submitted to a jury composed of local neighborhood associations, Keystone Realty Group, CICF, Butler, and the Art Center. This mural will be the first part of the new Art 2 Art project, "An Arts & Recreational Trail connecting the Indianapolis Museum of Art to the Indianapolis Art Center utilizing the Central Canal Towpath and the Monon Trail."

Several art projects are planned along this trail. Also unveiled was the new Art 2 Art Trail wayfinding sign.
