"In its fourth year, the Midtown Holiday Home Tour will again have five diverse homes in three different neighborhoods decorated for the holidays, which sets this home tour apart from others. We are grateful for the talented floral designers, David Strohmeyer of The Empty Vase, Sheri Hilton who is The Frugal Decorator and Ken Johnson from Simply Amish, all who are decorating homes in the spirit of Christmas. Missy Cheshire, of Palm Court Designs will design autumnal colors of Thanksgiving for a lovely Arts and Crafts home," said Ms. Langdon.
Advance tickets can be purchased for $15 on-line through www.midtownindy.org or at: The Empty Vase (111 East 49th Street) and National Bank of Indianapolis (49 North Pennsylvania Avenue), Be Boutique (5607 North Illinois Street) and at The Riviera Club (5640 North Illinois Street). Tickets available the day of the tour at homes are $20.
Architectural designs of the tour homes are: American Foursquare, an Arts and Crafts bungalow, French Colonial and two English Tudor homes, one of which has a Spanish influence.
The tour home decorators are: Palm Court Design (3657 N. Washington Boulevard), Ken Johnson & Carolyn Houk (3764 N. Delaware Street), The Empty Vase (4270 N. Meridian Street and 5515 N. Washington Boulevard) and The Frugal Decorator (5727 Central Avenue). Ed Stewart of Little Dreamers Studio (http://www.littledreamersstudio.com/) photographed the tour houses. His residence appeared on the 2012 home tour.
Pulitzer Prize winning author Booth Tarkington and his wife, Susannah resided in the English Tudor home on Meridian Street.
The Midtown Holiday Home Tour can provide you with some home decorating ideas for the forthcoming Christmas season.
