New water taxi service coming to BR Park?
Dan Ripley of WARMfest fame wants to establish a water taxi shuttle on the White River between Keystone at the Crossing and Broad Ripple Park according to an interview with him in The Star.
The Broad Ripple Boat Company had rides during the Fest and also offers White River Boat excursions (www.broadrippleboatco.com) aboard the Perserverance II.
Also at WARMfest was The Indianapolis Rowing Company on Labor Day enjoying the White River.

New taxi service in the Ripple
I tried taking a cab the other night from Union Station downtown to Broad Ripple: one driver wouldn't take a credit card (but offered to drive me to an ATM at midnight), another driver said I had to take the cab behind him, still another said his meter wasn't working but he could estimate the charges, while yet another told me he couldn't print me a receipt but would email me something!
Also, the city has shut down some local taxi companies for numerous code violations (including apparently not allowing passengers to open the door).
Readers may be glad to hear we have a new option, Uber Taxi. See www.uber.com. It's a premium taxi service that you can use with an iPhone app.
