Round the Ripple by Bill Malcolm

There's a lot of news in the Ripple:
CORNELL AVENUE RE-SURFACING TO ADDRESS DRAINAGE ISSUES
Cornell Avenue will see resurfacing that will also address the drainage issues in that area. The Indianapolis Department of Public Works will be resurfacing from the Canal dead end to 67th Street. The project scope includes replacing sidewalks and curbs where necessary and adding angled parking. Due to the extensive drainage repairs the street will need to be closed a block at a time hopefully for no more than a couple of days at a time. At this time they are looking for this project to begin middle to late July 2013.
NEW JORDAN YMCA OUTDOOR POOL OPENS
The new outdoor pool at the Jordan Y is open. The 50-year-old pool was totally demolished and replaced with the new pool.
Also new is a pool slide made possible by a generous private donation. Note that you must be a member or with a member to visit the pool which (unlike the Broad Ripple Park City Pool which closes August 4, 2013) is open through Labor Day. To join the Y or for more information, visit www.indyymca.org or call the Jordan Y at 253-3206.
HOLLIDAY PARK CAMPAIGN TO FIX THE RUINS, RENOVATE NATURE CENTER EXHIBIT
Can the Ruins be ruined? Or even saved? Yes, if the Friends of Holliday Park (FHP) have their way. They are launching a capital campaign to revitalize the historic Ruins and renovate the exhibit hall in the nature center. The official kick off will be on June 13, 2013, at a free concert at 6:45 p.m. at the Park. The campaign also includes a renovation of the exhibit hall in the Nature Center.
