Poetic Thoughts - from John Lorton - by C.W. Pruitt II
posted: Jul. 06, 2012
Below is another poem from Glendale resident John Lorton:
I've been down before
But seldom quite this low
I'd like to run and hide;
But... Have nowhere to go!
When will this feeling pass
Only the good Lord knows
In this mental prison
Handcrafted just by me
What must I do!
To make everybody see
This is not the best
The best my life can be
I have worked for many years
To improve my mental state!
Even though I've come so far
The improvements are not great
Not great enough to let me be
Everything I want to be
Why can't the world see...
All I want is to be me
THE ONLY ME! THERE WILL EVER BE That alone is good enough for me
At least... as far as I can see.
