RICK'S TOP 20 ALBUMS OF THE DECADE - Part 2
The following albums released over the last ten years have provided me with the most listening enjoyment:

1. SIGUR ROS-AGAETIS BYRJUN
Rock played with dynamics usually associated with classical music, and with otherwordly vocals and guitar sounds.

2. RADIOHEAD-IN RAINBOWS
Incorporates all of their strong points, leaves out all of their weak points.

3. LCD SOUNDSYSTEM-SOUND OF SILVER
A techno/rock/dance hybrid that never stops.

4. RYAN ADAMS-HEARTBREAKER
Adams may disown this as "not meaning a word of it," but you could never tell listening to the beauty within, both musically and lyrically.

5. VARIOUS ARTISTS-NEW ORLEANS FUNK (Soul Jazz compilation)
Everyone from The Meters to Professor Longhair, impeccably chronicled over 2 CDs. No funkier CD was issued this decade.

6. WHITE STRIPES-WHITE BLOOD CELLS/ELEPHANT
Hard to pick between these two, as Jack White is one consistent dude.

7. JOHNNY CASH-MAN COMES AROUND
Already immortal, this album made him even more so. (But how can you be "more" immortal?)

8. LOW-THE GREAT DESTROYER
The perfect marriage of warm, clear vocals and reverbed/distorted/fuzzed-out guitar.

9. BECK-SEA CHANGE
His "sad" album also contains his best songwriting.

10. DJ DANGERMOUSE-GREY ALBUM
A 'game-changing" release brilliantly combining (often unrecognizable) samples of the Beatles "White Album" with vocals from Jay-Z's "Black Album". C'mon Paul, let this be released commercially!
