Are you ready for ghoulish nights in the Cultural Districts? It's time for the Time Warp Dance, it's just a jump to the left and then a step to the right while you jump out of your seat as you become part of a Halloween tradition; The Rocky Horror Show, LIVE presented by The Artist's Studio, hits the stage at the Historic Athenaeum Theatre in the Mass Ave district, 401 E. Michigan Street. Audience participation is encouraged and there will be a costume dance party at 9:30pm prior to the show on Halloween night. Keeping with the spooky theme The Indiana Ballet Company is presenting the Phantom of the Opera at the Madam Walker Theatre. Show times are Friday, October 30th, at 7:30pm and Saturday the 31st at 2pm and 7:30pm. For tickets www.ticketweb.com
The Indianapolis Art Center is keeping with the theme with their 10th annual celebration of El Dia De Los Muertos/Day of the Dead Altar Exhibition on Sunday, November 1st, from noon-5pm. The day includes traditional Mexican food, Altars throughout the galleries, art activities for both adults and children, skeletons dressed as everyday people and paintings by John Parra. Looking ahead at the week in the Districts we have IDADA First Friday on November 6th, from 6-9pm. G.C. Lucas Gallery (884 Mass Ave) is exhibiting Indianapolis Artist Lorraine Sack's "Putting Her in Her Place". Sack's still lifes are anything but simple, a must see in person. Her attention to detail is beyond comparison and the use of color is just as inviting as the subjects she chooses. Visit www.idada.org for a map and more info. Also something different going on Saturday, November 7th, from 2-5pm. The official open house for Indiana War Memorial Museum's newest exhibit; "U.S.S Indy Radio Room". Dedicated to USN WWII Radiomen, this will be a unique one of a kind exhibit to see this month and it's free and open to the public.
