Three petitions were on the agenda for the August 2009 meeting of the Broad Ripple Village Association (BRVA) Land Use & Development Committee meeting. The first petitioner for the property located at 6043 College Avenue did not come to the meeting. The first petition presented was for 2009-ZON-027 for property at 1030 Kessler Boulevard. This petition was discussed at length at last month's meeting. The developer showed his new plans for the proposed townhouses on the parcel between the Monon Trail and Birchwood Avenue. He had reduced the number of units to four, turning the space opened by removing one unit into a common park area for the remaining units. Several remonstrators attended the meeting and were still unhappy with the density of the development and they expressed their opposition to closing Birchwood at Kessler. One positive of the project for the neighbors is the possible improvement of the often-troubled sewer system in the area.
The last petition was 2009-DV3-025 for property at 845 Broad Ripple Avenue, Jimmy John's. The restaurant is requesting to legally establish their parking lot configuration and to re-landscape the sign area. Several suggestions were brought up to change the parking lot to make it better fit the urban Village setting.
Attorney Terry Monday showed the plans for Jimmy John's.
