John Yaggi, owner of Connor's Pub, 6331 N. Ferguson, in Broad Ripple, sponsored an event on Saturday, August 8, 2009, to benefit the American Cancer Society. By investing $40, which will be donated to the American Cancer Society of Carmel, Noblesville and Westfield, one received a chance on several raffles prizes, such as Budweiser Chairs, restaurant gift certificates, salon certificates, free Yoga classes and much more. American Cancer Society Community Representative, Katrina Kotarski, was very pleased to have Connor's Pub offer this generous opportunity.
Live music was provided by Hyryder, consisting of Charlie Morgan, lead guitarist; Nick Neureiter, drums; Chad Gavigan, bass guitar; and Eric Thompson, rhythm guitar. They play at Connor's Pub and The Mousetrap and other venues. Katie explained that the money raised will benefit Relay for Life, Road to Recovery (a program to help patients be driven for cancer treatment), Look Good - Feel Good (coordinated with hairdressers, make up and wig specialists), and Camps for Children with Cancer (for children up to age 18). Co-chairs for the event were Sara Beaver and Katrina Schneider.
