Random Rippling - IFD drags canal for buried treasures
posted: Aug. 21, 2009
The canal near Guilford Avenue was buzzing with activity on Thursday, August 13, 2009. The Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) was working with Indy Parks in an attempt to recover 15 decorative trim panels that were recently stolen from the railings on the north side of the canal. The officers recovered several bikes, road signs, a tricycle, a skateboard, a snow sled, and a cash register cash drawer. An opened safe was found, but was too heavy to carry out. About half of the railing panels were recovered. Pictures of the loot are at www.broadripplegazette.com
