The first annual Warfleigh Neighborhood Picnic has gone down in local history as a great success. On June 6th, 2009, more than 250 folks turned out to enjoy live music, perfect summer weather, and the good company of neighbors and friends.
Musicians Andrew Rosborough (l) and Horace Webster played during the picnic. They are members of the Indianapolis Song Café and graciously donated their time.

Music was provided throughout the evening by volunteers from the Indianapolis Songwriters Cafe, including original tunes by Brian Pitzer, Bryce Taylor, Horace Webster, Andrew Rosborough and Brandon Javella. Door prizes were supplied by many Broad Ripple merchants, including Chelsea's, Greek's Pizza, Peggy Taylor Hair Care, The Bungalow, Marigold, Artifacts, Hair@6310, Papa Murphy's, 3 Dog Bakery, Good Earth, Jo Ellen Meyers Sharp, Rick Greiner, and Heather and Scott Lusk. The Children's Play Area was awash in face paint; neighbor kids played kick the can and hula hoops twirled everywhere. Adults and children alike enjoyed the corn hole area, and the beer and wine swap tent was appreciated by the over 21 crowd.
The Picnic Committee has begun planning for next summer. Saturday, June 5th, 2010, has been selected as the date, pending availability of the street space. The committee intends to keep all the elements of this picnic and add new activities.
