Letters From Readers - Limo woes in the heart of the Village - Amy Whaley

Hi, Alan! I didn't get to personally introduce myself to you after the meeting. I understand from Ron Heimel that he talked to you after the meeting and gave you my card. He said you were the editor of Broad Ripple Gazette and gave him a copy of it containing the contacts we were looking for. Thanks so much! I have contacted Ryan Vaughn to see about the implementation of a loading/unloading zone for limousines in Broad Ripple.
My husband, Mike, and I had frequented Broad Ripple quite a bit in the past doing business there, but feel "jinxed" at this point after his head-on collision with a drunk taxi driver (he has a court date in October for this) and after getting a ticket for $150 from an officer for simply stopping his limo with flashers on to let his customers out for the evening (he has a court date tomorrow for this ticket). [Since then,] we have been avoiding Broad Ripple as much as possible.
At this point, I have been trying to do some research on what has been going on with law enforcement and the limousine business in Broad Ripple. So far, I have heard that there is no consistency on ticketing among drivers for dropping off or picking up customers on Broad Ripple Avenue. However, some drivers avoid it since they have heard through the grapevine about the ticketing.
Thanks for the contact information from your paper.
