The Olympics occurred over the past few weeks, and it was amazing to watch the incredible acts the athletes accomplished. The human body is an incredible machine, but those gold medal athletes will tell you that it takes years of preparation to get the body ready for Olympic competition. A person doesn't just wake up one day and decide to compete at that level. It takes dedication, determination, and persistence along with training to be a successful athlete.

So what is it that each of us want to succeed at in life? Perhaps it is to be a better parent, or just to have better relationships in general. Maybe it is to succeed in the workplace, or have the best garden, or to be healthier, or to work on being more spiritual. Whatever it is, it is not going to happen by magic. People who succeed at anything in this life do so because they don't give up when things get a little tough. The people who succeed in life have determination and persistence. Anything can be accomplished if one is willing to work for it.

We've become a nation of procrastinators. We kind of just wait around for something to happen instead of being the ones who are proactive. It's time for us to get moving. Our country is hurting, which means our people are hurting, and it seems like no one really cares about that. We definitely are living in a time where action is necessary.
