Zoning update and BRVA meeting
by Alan Hague
posted: Jun. 20, 2008

The Buckingham project on the site of McNamara at 61st and the Monon Trail was approved by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission at their June 4, 2008, hearing.
The Broad Ripple Village Association (BRVA) held a zoning hearing on May 27, 2008, at Broad Ripple United Methodist Church. The only petition on the agenda was for the property at 515 E. 62nd Place. The zoning variance would be required due to the construction of a new structure in a flood plain. FEMA requires ventilation of 0.5 square feet of venting per square foot of construction, while the builder is requesting 1 square inch per square foot. Neighbors to the property attended the public meeting and voiced concerns about the project and questioned the legal notice procedure.
The BRVA holds regular public zoning meetings on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6 P.M. at the 62nd and Guilford Avenue church.
