On February 8th, 2008, I had a date with BRAD. We talked about art, enjoyed a few glasses of wine and sat by the fire. A perfect date if you ask me - and the other 35 people in attendance. Okay, so it wasn't really a date but all that other stuff did happen. Truthfully, the fine artists and friends of Broad Ripple Art & Design (BRAD) gathered together for their monthly 2nd Friday Open House to do what they do best (see the aforementioned list).
This opening showcased noticeably new works by Sean Gray, Quincy Owens, Susan Hodgin, Catherine Burris, Sofiya Inger, Teri Barnett, Doug Arnholter, Andy Chen and Patrick Titzer. Also on display were the wares of Elizabeth Guipe Hall, Sylvia Gray, A25X, Paul Siebenthal and Jeff Rothenberg.
I enjoyed new-comer Sean Gray's circular ceramic assemblage "Constellations." As always, I was awed by Burris and her curious constructions, "Baby to Go" and "Step Right Up." Patrick Titzer's hand forged steel chair "Lean" was quite the hit with those who sit.
To see (and sit) for yourself, stop by the corner of 54th and Winthrop on Saturdays from 1 to 6 and second Fridays from 5:30 to 9. You can also call BRAD at 254-8096 to set up your very own date.
