Village kicks off season with Holiday Preview Party - By Heidi Huff

Friday, December 9, 2007, marked Broad Ripple's Annual Holiday Preview Party. With each participating storefront lit with luminaries, I propose that, next year, it should be called the Deck-the-walks-with-bags-of-candles Preview Party, just for fun.

Stores distributed punch cards for patrons to track their party progress. Punch card participants now have until December 14 to visit at least 15 of the stores and then turn in their cards at the listed locations. At Broad Ripple Lights Up on December 14, a card drawing will determine the winner of a 500 dollar gift basket.

Party-goers were encouraged to bring pasta products to benefit Second Helpings.

Places packing a "punch" include, Artifacts, Big Hat Books, Blue Door, Bungalow, Ceramic Dreams, Chelsea's, gingko, Girly Chic Boutique, Editions Limited Gallery, Fine Estate Art & Rugs, Honeysuckle Home, Basile Studio Shop at the Indianapolis Art Center, Just Pop In, Kiln Creations, Marigold Clothing, Monon Coffee, Periwinkle, RSVP, The Wellness Space, Thompson Collection and Three Dog Bakery.

This holiday, when you're making your list and checking it twice be sure to give some of these personal favorites:

And what's a Broad Ripple tour without food? I delighted in the cupcakes from the Flying Cupcake (located at 56th and Illinois) featured at their sister store, Girly Chic Boutique. These gifts and goodies are sure to excite gift-givers and gift-getters alike!
