Poetic Thoughts - To World War II Veterans - by C.W. Pruitt II

A Long Overdue Tribute To The Vets of WWII
I have wanted to pay tribute to the veterans of World War II for many years. Even years before, I was blessed to pen poetry for the greatest neighborhood on Earth.
When Brokaw's book came out, I felt the urge. When Burn's film came out, I really felt the urge. Then today, Rasmussen's column came out, and the urge surged through. Thanks Rev. Tim for the final push.
My uncles Jim and Floyd Pruitt served in the costliest of wars. So to them and to all World War II veterans, this is my tribute:
To World War II Veterans
(To Say The Very Least)
I may not be completely free
But to the scale, scope, and degree
That I know liberty
I owe a large share
To your sacrifice for me
Gratefully,
C.W. Pruitt II
