Local resident opens all-ages venue with beer and wine for 21 and over show-goers - By Ashley Plummer
posted: Aug. 10, 2007

By Ashley Plummer

Andy Skinner, a Broad Ripple area resident, has purchased the Irving Theater, located at 5505 East Washington St. on the south east side of Indianapolis.
Skinner has taken it upon himself to reconstruct the interior and exterior of the theater, using primarily contractors, designers and builders from the Broad Ripple area as his cohorts in the project.
The Gazette plans to do an in-depth article on the process and the grand opening of the new venue, but is also promoting Skinners' first show at the venue before the renovation.
Margot and the Nuclear So and So's, along with Jorma and the Movie Bare and Everything, Now! will play at the Irving on Saturday, August 11, 2007, at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at Indy CD and Vinyl or online at www.brownpapertickets.com.
Although an all-ages show, beer and wine will be available for those who are 21 and over, which Skinner hopes will be a large incentive for future shows.
