Poetic Thoughts - April Show - by C.W. Pruitt II

April Show
April is a time of renewal to which I always look forward, and Spring cleaning I often do.
Every April at 322 Arsenal, David Hittle cleans his house of all of his furniture to make room for the art of artists who have survived bleak winters in their lives.
The payoff is a packed house of people, paintings and purpose. The people pack the halls, and art adorns the walls. Although the house is warm, there is a really nice circulation of Love.
The artists of The April Show have overcome harrowing experiences in their lives. This seems to have created a vortex of inspiration within them. The resulting works show pain and transcendental spirit.
The artists I know at The April Show are happy to discuss their work. This is great for me (a novice painter), because every time they talk, I feel like I grow a little as an artist.
This past show was the tenth April Show, and there should be many more to come. Consider this an ad for a great show several months in advance.
