Miss Mary retires from McDonald's

On April 25, 2007, the Broad Ripple McDonald's threw Mary a birthday and retirement party. The electronic sign on Broad Ripple Avenue announced "Mary Is Back!". McDonald's supplied a big cake and gave Mary a present of a bird bath for her garden. Ronald McDonald himself was at the party! Past customers and friends filled the restaurant to give Mary a hug, congratulate her on her 85th birthday, and thank her for the eight years of brightening this neighborhood gathering spot.
