Life's Ripples from Broad Ripple United Methodist Church by Rev. Timothy Rasmussen

The word change is often construed as a dirty word. People don't like change. Anything unfamiliar makes us uncomfortable, yet the very definition of life is change. If the body is not changing, then the body is dead.
Our seasons are changing. The weather is cooler, and the leaves are changing color and falling off the trees. The sky this time of year is a brilliant blue, and when the sun hits those yellow trees against that brilliant sky it is a beautiful sight to behold.
If the seasons didn't change, if the leaves didn't color, if the temperature was always the same, it would make for a pretty dull world. God blessed us with changes in order that we might learn, grow, and live the full life that He intends for us.
The next time change is knocking at your door, open it and let it in. If faced with a positive attitude, change can be anticipated and welcomed instead of feared.
