Upcoming Festivals: Broad Ripple Street Fest and Indiana Microbrewers Festival

A new festival debuts in the streets of the Village on Saturday, July 22, 2006. Broad Ripple Avenue from College to Winthrop will be the site of food, drink, and music. The first annual Street Fest runs from 3 P.M. until 10 P.M. Several local restaurants will have food and drink booths. The food vendors will include: Marco's Pizza, Shalimar, Alley Cat, Qdoba, Broad Ripple Steak House, and Uncle Artie's BBQ. Five bands will perform on the stage at Guilford Avenue.
On Saturday, July 29, 2006, from 2 P.M. to 6 P.M., Opti Park, which is located at 66th and Carrollton Avenue, will be transformed into the annual Indiana Microbrewers Festival. Over 200 beers will be available for tasting - Lagers and Hybrid Beers, Dark Lagers, Pale Ales, Strong Ales, Mild, Brown, and Amber Ales, Porters, Wheat Beers, Fruit, Spiced, and Smoked Beers, Belgian-style beers, Saison, and ReplicAle. Dick's Bodacious BBQ and Yats will have food to go with all of that beer. Proceeds from the event will go to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Indiana Chapter and the Northside Indianapolis Chapter of Optimists International.
