The April 15 storm that produced 2.5 inch hail stones hit Broad Ripple hard. Neon signs at The Vogue, Landsharks, and Rouge were damaged. Approximately half of the neon on the north side of the Vogue marquee was damaged. The neon on the south side is still lit. This was the second blow to the Rouge sign. A few days earlier it was hit by a truck.

This hailstorm came almost one year after the last damaging storm. Last year's hail was smaller, but lasted longer - piling up hail like snow.
