Old Town of Broad Ripple Meeting Minutes #2

The Town of Broad Ripple was incorporated in 1894 and started holding regular meetings.
In this column, each issue, I will print my transcription of the old Town of Broad Ripple meeting minutes. These are taken from the original, hand-written minutes that contain many spelling errors. I have transcribed all of the records as they were entered, including those errors. I will make some corrections in brackets [ ].
In the last installment: The town people voted to incorporate and held an election for town officers.

Here is the second installment:

M R Likins and Chas Mittendorff Clerks of said board, and ex officer Clerk of said board was also present acting as such Clerk, Where upon each member of the board produced the Certificates of the Votes cast at said Elections, also the Poll books and Tally papers of said election to him delivered according to law upon which the Board proceeded to canvas said certificate, Poll book and Tally papers returned by each member + to estimate the number of votes cast at said elections from which examination the said Board estimated the votes of the election a statement of which drawn up in a tabular form by said Clerks above set forth whereby it appears and is hereby certified that For Trustee 1st District Nulis[Neiles] BS Florander received Thirty three (33) votes. For Trustee Second (2) district Clarance L Kirk received Thirty one (31) votes. For Trustee Third (3rd) district Joseph W Bates received Thirty (30) votes. For Clerk Jas H Brady received Thirty (30) votes. For Treasurer Henry M Hessong received Thirty one (31) votes. For Marshall Geo E Hubbard received Thirty two (32) votes.

We do hereby certify and declair that Nulis[Neiles] B.S. Florander was duly elected Trustee of First (1st) district. That Clarance L Kirk duly elected Trustee of second (2nd) district. That Joseph W. Bates was duly elected Trustee of Third (3rd) district. That Jas H Brady was duly elected Town Clerk. That Henry M Hessong was duly elected Town Treasurer. That Geo E Hubbard was duly elected Town Marshall. As shown by the above statement in witness thereof we hereunto subscribe our names this 14th day of July 1894

[Margin:] The Board of Trustees adopted the following seal the outside circle is 1 ¾ in diameter, 1 the second circle is 1 ¼ in diameter. Outside of the second circle is the following inscription "Town of Broad Ripple Indiana" The inside circle contains the following "Incorporated 1894 Seal"
