Frog's Random Rippling - American Legion Auxiliary event
posted: Jan. 11, 2024
Last month while the Random Ripplings were on their Holiday hiatus something happened that I would like to share with you. The American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) unit #34 of the Robert E. Kennington Post #34 adopted The HVAF Carson House as their Christmas charity. This ALA Unit #34 adopted this housing Unit as an ongoing volunteer project. The Carson Families consist of four at-risk or homeless veteran families that live in the Carson Apartments provided by HVAF of Indiana. Although falling short of enough gifts for all 23 of the family members, ALA Unit 34 adopted this housing Unit as an ongoing volunteer project.
Here Ely Hinkle, Commander of the American Legion Riders Post #34 and one of his Riders, Santa Dog "Benji" present a check to Melissa Clawson, President of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit#34 for her total goal of $675.00. The Sons of the American Legion (SAL) Commander and the Sons donated $200.00. Various raffles and 50/50 raised an additional $585.00. Doug White of the SAL & ALR won the 50/50 and immediately donated it back to the cause. TOTAL for the day $1,460.00 !
